PARKING & TRANSPORTATION
Washington, DC, can be tricky to navigate during large events, so we recommend parking outside the immediate area and using public transit or rideshare options.
DC METRO
The Metro system in D.C. is relatively easy to use and connects to various regional transit systems. We recommend buying a D.C. Metro card in advance. Many people purchasing cards at once at the Metro machines can lead to long lines and delays. You can buy cards in advance here. The DC Metro now also allows you to use mobile payment options such as Apple Pay; you must download the app and load the fare beforehand.
Pro Tip: Bring warm, comfortable walking shoes and lots of patience. You can find more information about the DC area bus and metro options here.
